3/21/2024 0 Comments Starfall free kid games![]() ![]() ![]() There are several different mini activities on this one, and the one below is called “Where do I sleep?” Charlie loves customizing his little kid and picking from many choices leading up to the child going to bed.īeyond the great Pre-K and Kindergarten context, the membership goes further with math and reading for 1st grade. My kids have all been obsessed with the game pictured below. When you get the membership, all of your child’s favorite content from the free version of the website is still there and conveniently located on the new dashboard that you will be logged into. Then, when they are expected to do something, the graphics are very encouraging and give hints on what to do, such as showing an example of placing the correct letters in the correct basket, or having the “next” arrow on the bottom right blink of shimmer. ![]() I like that kids are able to listen to the words on the screen, and they are highlighted as they are said so that emerging and confident readers can easily read along. Starfall is very colorful and interactive. Even if you only have one that could use it, consider the great songs, math practice, and phonics instruction that your child will get to do while they are playing and having fun! If you’ve got several young children, this is a no-brainer. The Home Membership is just $35 per year and gives access to all of the content to everyone in your household and immediate family (including grandparents). ![]() The regular website is great, but membership offers plenty of extra content for kids at a pre-k through 2nd grade level. My oldest kids still have fond memories of using the site when they were preschoolers, so they usually hang around to watch my 5 year old play on there. My family has used Starfall for many years. It’s been cool to see what he gravitates toward each time he gets on, because the website is full of fun activities. Lucky for me, Starfall Education Foundation gave us a complimentary review copy of The Starfall Home Membership to try with him over the past several weeks. I’m glad to give him work, and really try to mainly just focus on math, phonics, and handwriting. It's definitely worth checking out.Lately, my 5 year old has been very interested in actually doing school each day to try and keep up with his older siblings. You'll need to make sure you have Flash player installed to use Starfall. Other fun activities on Starfall include a make-your-own calendar activity and seasonal elements, such as this pumpkin patch activity that teaches the short "u" sound. We've also noticed that they often play games on Starfall together, with our son, who is already a very good reader, helping to guide his younger sister through the activities. With Starfall, they can play and learn independently, and gain a sense of accomplishment when they complete games, finish stories, and learn to read. We try to use Starfall as a way to augment the children's learning experiences, and spend a lot of time reading to and with them. The focus with Starfall is on learning to read using a phonics approach, and is divided into sections range from the "ABCs" to the more challenging reading materials included in "I'm Reading!" Activities take the form of fun stories, often with interactive elements and animations to help get children involved. It's a non-commercial website full of activities, games, and stories for preschoolers through elementary students. Starfall is free public resource that we were introduced to through our son's kindergarten class last year. One of the websites that all of us love is. We also want to limit their exposure to commercial kids' websites and the ads that accompany them. We don't mind if they do, but we also want to make sure that their limited "screen time" is more than just playing around. Our son has been using our computer for a while now, and, in true younger sibling style, our 3-year-old daughter now wants to play on it, too. ![]()
